Getting Started
Armorer is a firearm maintenance tracker for iPhone, iPad, and Android. It tracks round counts, service intervals, maintenance history, modifications, gear, ammo inventory, and more — everything serious gun owners need to manage their collection in one place. It was built by Luke McCoy, the founder of USA Carry, because he couldn't find a tool worth using.
Yes, with limits. Every account starts with a 30-day free trial of everything, no credit card required. After that you keep a free tier — up to 2 firearms, 5 pieces of gear, and 5 ammo entries — and nothing you have already added is ever taken away or hidden. Round logging, service intervals, and maintenance history stay free for everyone, forever. Armorer Pro removes the limits and adds voice logging, documents, value tracking, and data export.
Armorer runs on iPhone and iPad (iOS 16 or later) and on Android. The iPad version uses a two-pane layout that takes advantage of the larger screen. Your data syncs across every device you sign in on.
You can sign in with Apple Sign In, Google Sign In, or a traditional email and password. Apple Sign In is the fastest option — it uses Face ID and requires no password. If you use email/password, your password is also used as the encryption key for your serial numbers, so use something you'll remember.
Yes — Armorer supports CSV import for firearms. Go to Profile → Import Data and download the template to see the required format. Export is a multi-sheet Excel workbook covering everything you have entered — firearms, gear, ammo, round logs, maintenance history, modifications and more — with references resolved to names rather than IDs, because people hand these to insurance agents.
Features
Open any firearm and tap Service Intervals. You can set intervals by round count (e.g., clean every 500 rounds) or by time (e.g., inspect every 6 months). Armorer tracks your progress automatically as you log range sessions and sends a push notification 7 days before a service is due. When service is overdue, a banner appears at the top of the gun detail screen.
Yes. When you log a range session and select an ammo type from your inventory, Armorer deducts the rounds automatically. You can set a low stock threshold per ammo type — when your inventory drops below that number, the ammo card shows a visual alert so you know when to reorder.
Yes. You can add photos and attach documents to firearms, gear, and ammo. Photos can be added directly from the Add screen — you don't have to save the item first. All photos are automatically stripped of EXIF data (including GPS location) before uploading. Documents and receipts are great for insurance records and resale documentation.
Gear and accessories (optics, lights, lasers, slings, stocks, and more) have their own service intervals, maintenance history, photo galleries, and document storage. You can attach gear to a specific firearm or manage it standalone. This is useful for things like battery replacement reminders on optics.
Yes. Each firearm has a Modifications section where you can log aftermarket parts by category — trigger, barrel, muzzle device, slide, frame, grip, sights, lighting, and more. Include the brand, model, date installed, and notes for each modification.
You can tag firearms, gear, and ammo with a storage location such as Safe, Gun Safe, Vault, Bedside, Vehicle, Range Bag, and more. You can also add custom locations — they'll be saved on your device for quick reuse. Filter your inventory by location from the main screens.
Privacy & Security
Serial numbers use zero-knowledge encryption. They're encrypted on your device using AES-256-GCM with a key derived from your password via PBKDF2. The encrypted value is what gets sent to the server. This means we mathematically cannot read your serial numbers — not us, not anyone with access to our servers. Only you can decrypt them with your password.
No. Your firearm data is never sold, shared, licensed, or used for advertising — ever. There are no ads in Armorer and there never will be. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
Yes. Every photo is automatically processed to strip EXIF metadata — including GPS coordinates — before it's uploaded. The photo you see in the app contains no location data. Your safe's address, your home, and your range stay private.
You can reset your password through the Forgot Password link on the login screen. A reset link will be emailed to you. However, because serial numbers are encrypted with your password as the key, resetting your password means your serial numbers will no longer be decryptable. All other data (round counts, maintenance history, photos, etc.) is unaffected. This is the nature of zero-knowledge encryption — only you hold the key.
Yes. Go to Profile → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all associated data from our servers — firearms, maintenance logs, photos, documents, ammo inventory, everything. This action cannot be undone. No email required, no hoops to jump through.
Subscription & Billing
The free trial gives you 30 days of full access with no credit card required. At the end of the trial, you'll be prompted to subscribe to continue. If you don't subscribe, your data is preserved but the app goes into read-only mode until you subscribe.
Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone and find Armorer to cancel. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period. You can also go to Profile → Manage Subscription inside the app.
Go to Profile → Restore Purchases. This syncs your App Store purchase with Armorer. If the issue persists, sign out and back in, then restore purchases again. If you're still having trouble, contact us with your Apple ID email and we'll sort it out.
Not currently. Each account requires its own subscription. If this is something you'd like to see, let us know via the in-app feedback button — it helps us prioritize future features.
Troubleshooting
Serial numbers require your encryption key to be active in your current session. If the field is greyed out, sign out and sign back in using your email and password to restore the encryption session. This is a security feature — the key is only available when you've authenticated with your password in the current session.
First, make sure you have an active internet connection. If you're signing in with Google, ensure you're signed into your Google account in Settings on your iPhone. For Apple Sign In, make sure you have Two-Factor Authentication enabled on your Apple ID. If the issue persists, try the email/password sign-in option. Still stuck? Contact us and we'll help.
Ammo deduction only happens when you select a specific ammo type from your inventory when logging rounds. If you log rounds without selecting an ammo type, no deduction occurs. Make sure you've added the ammo to your inventory first under the Ammo tab, then select it when logging your range session.
Go to Profile → Feedback inside the app. You can submit bug reports or feature ideas directly — they go straight to Luke. You can also use the contact form on this site. Every submission is read personally.
